There’s a ridge in Okinawa where you can see everything.
The ocean on one side. The island on the other. Most people never make it up here.
Getting There
It’s called Asumui. There are signs, and there’s a parking lot.
But most visitors to Okinawa never come here. It’s not on the standard itinerary. Not in the beach guides. Not in the first ten things anyone tells you to see.
It’s just there — and most people drive right past it.
What You See
From the top, the island opens up in a way it doesn’t from the road. The ocean stretches in both directions. The green of the interior. The blue at the edges.
On a clear day, you can see neighboring islands in the distance.
Why Most People Skip It
It’s on the map. It has a name. It has a parking lot.
But it’s not the beach. It’s not the castle. It’s not the market.
So most people drive past it, check a few things off the list, and fly home without ever seeing the island from above.
The Short Version
The ocean on one side. The island on the other.
This is what Okinawa looks like from above.
